MONTANA— Today, Democatic nominee for Governor, Lt. Gov. Mike Cooney, announced his support for Sen. Jon Tester’s Badger-Two Medicine Protection Act. “The Badger-Two Medicine area is sacred, which is why I’m proud to announce my support of this legislation to permanently provide it with the protections it deserves. This bill will honor the history and culture of the Blackfeet Nation, while also expanding public lands access for hunters, anglers, and all Montanans,” said Lt. Gov. Mike Cooney. “I call upon Rep. Greg Gianforte to swiftly introduce companion legislation in the House of Representatives to support public lands access and the Blackfeet Nation. I commend Sen. Tester for his leadership on this critical issue, and I look forward to hearing from Rep. Gianforte on an issue of such critical importance to all Montanans.”
