Helena, MT – Following news that “several recent cases of COVID-19” were linked to the Let Freedom Ring concert on October 3rd in Helena, which Congressman Greg Gianforte attended without wearing a mask, Lt. Gov. Mike Cooney called for Gianforte to suspend all in-person campaign activities and self-isolate until he receives a test for COVID-19 and is confirmed negative. Congressman Gianforte was potentially exposed at the concert two days before the in-person PBS Gubernatorial debate. Gianforte told the Associated Press today that he would not be getting a COVID-19 test.
Pursuant to guidelines outlined by public health experts, Cooney and Lt. Gov. nominee Casey Schreiner have taken COVID-19 rapid tests. Cooney and Schreiner are postponing in-person campaign events while awaiting results.
